  What is having the biggest impact on the watchtower Bible and tract society?

  hi all.. this is a reasonable question and would love to know what you think is having the biggest impact on watchtower.

  there is a plethora of websites talking negatively of watchtower.

  there are the never ending court cases regarding child abuse allegations.

  How many JW's believe to their last breath . .

  i can easily believe that thousands did all through the watchtowers glory years but especially after '95 the whole thing has been unravelling.

  kidding yourself to maintain family relationships and social networks is *somewhat* understandable in life but on your deathbed?.

  i think the demographic for jw's may actually get younger as time goes on.

  In my case, the minute I personally studied that magazine where they came up with the 'overlapping generations' version (1995), it all started looking and feeling like just men making stuff up as they went along.

  That was the moment when it was all over for me. From that point forward, I am here because I love my family and still care sincerely about quite a few of my friends, and know for sure I'll lose them if I jump ship completely.

  Although I must inform that this charade is becoming increasingly harder to sustain as old age is setting in.

  Nothing and no situation is all good or all bad.

  The Spanish cong is full of fun, always some celebration or gathering. Very much enjoy the community.

  I would miss that aspect.

  Have tried socializing with different groups, at my work place, but their idea of a good time is very much not enjoyable to me: Too much alcohol, profanity, public sexual innuendos, smoking, yelling, offending each other, the ladies dressed very scantily.

  Definitely, the mild-mannered JW ways of having fun is how I am happily accustomed.

  I am anxiously awaiting the time when an inquiry like Australia's happens here in the States. Oh how glorious and eye opening that would be!

  The WTBTS would profusely bleed into extinction then. I salivate just thinking about it.

  JWs and legalized Marijuana

  i know this was probably covered before in some post, but i was curious.

  what is the jw stance on recreational marijuana use in the states where it has been legalized?.

  i would suspect smoking it, like cigarettes, would probably still be against the rules, but there are ways to use it that aren't damaging to your lungs.

  I cannot try anything stupid for risk of losing my very enjoyable job. I tell you, though, the minute I retire, I am trying some edible delightful pot. I hear it's so much fun, can hardly wait!

  many of them remember him from his post at the shell station, where he worked along with his wife.

  If he exists, God is a royal prick. It's documented in the Bible how he even had pleasure in watching his Son dying so horribly, along with many other verses which detail how servants from the past died in terrible ways.

  But, hey, they died with 'the hope'!

  I feel such deep hatred for this God.

  this article could be seen as a nice read compared with the banality and repetitiveness of many articles in recent years.

  however, several areas in the article still troubled me.

  paragraph one externalises the cause of an individual’s anxiety to satan the devil.

  The Internet has done wonders in getting many a JW to put the religion in its place. I mean, I look around the Spanish cong where I attend and the vast majority is going about their lives not according to what the WTBTS prescribes, but in a rather practical fashion instead.

  The 'awakened' class within is growing, and our eyes are wide open.

  The recommendations for alleviating anxiety outlined in the chart line up with what some health professionals have in print.

  So, I choose to accentuate that part of this article.

  Since leaving this community is not an option for me, how I survive mentally is accentuating the positive.

  Actually, this is a good premise for mental sanity overall in today's world.
